Hey guys,
So back in the winter, I snapped a bleed screw on my right front caliper while preparing to move my swap car. It was not a big deal then and I got a used caliper from a fellor r3ver for a 6" sub.
I went to install it yesterday (doing all new soft lines, pads and rotors) and to my horror the calipers were different. The one I got has Honda style floating pins, which bolt into the outer edges of the caliper and float in the carrier. Mine has a design like the E34, with pins bolting into the carrier and the caliper floating on them.
A friend of mine saved my ass by giving me a complete caliper with the carrier, but it was also the other style. Thankfully the carrier bolt pattern is the same so it fit.
My question is, is there any difference in clamping force or anything else that could make them incompatible somehow? I don't want to have to find out the hard way by having my car pull to the side on a racetrack...
