    Subframe and control arm nuts

I want to pick up large enough sockets tomorrow to drop the subframe and get the control arms off. My socket/wrench collection ends at 19mm. Looking at realoem.com the front and rear nuts are m14x1,5. What is this in mm, 22?

7/8 will work if you have trouble finding a stubby 22mm

Got it. Sub-frame is lowering on it's own, just a couple more things and it's done. Then off to get shit blasted and probably painted.

What paint is best to use on subframe/trailing arms ?

POR-15 turned out really nice on my suspension parts. The stuff is tough as nails too.

Jean, where in Sac are you getting stuff blasted? And are you pressing bushings in/out yourself?

Not sure yet, I'll have to ask around or call around. The trailing arm and subframe bushings aren't going to be OEM, so I shouldn't have any issues pressing them in I don't think. I am deciding on poly or metal, not sure yet. It's not a DD :)

If you find a good place, let me know and I might give them my business. I'll keep an eye out too. I'm gonna be doing a suspension overhaul myself with mostly AKG poly.

Metal's pretty hardcore--for autox or track? If autox, we'll be seeing each other in Stockton. :)

                      I sure will.

Yeah, I picked up a 2nd e30 just to make a dedicated autox/hpde car. For sure, hit me up if you want to drive to the next weekend. I usually drive with a couple regulars from sac to stockon. I am not going to autox my 318i this year anymore, I did all of last year, and for the rest of this year I am co-driving someone elses car. But for next year, my plan is to have my 89 325i ready and do some damage hehe :)

Cool. I might take you up on that ride. I don't think my car will be ready to run by August.

Can't wait to start autoxing again. I did it a few times years ago when I had a WRX, then once last year in an e46. It's fun as hell, but I'm pretty slow. I'm sure I can learn a few hundred things from you seasoned drivers.
