    Rear ABS sensor connection

Does anyone know where the rear ABS sensors (on a plastic bumper 325) plug into the wiring harness? Is it under the rear seat?

Also, anyone have a DIY for re-covering the wires on such a sensor? The rubber is crumbling off the wires and replacement is expensive. I was thinking of dipping them in that stuff you dip wrench handles in. I just hate to spend $400 in ABS sensors if these can be saved.

        Found a good solution

I found a great solution for re-covering wires.

        Performix makes a brush-on rubber insulation. http://www.plastidip.com/home_soluti...cal_Insulation

This stuff is great. It coats pretty think. I can imagine sealing all kinds of things with this stuff. You can pick it up at ACE Hardware, in the same section as regular electrical tape.

The outer insulation of the wheel speed sensors is known to fail with age. But as long as the insulation over each wire is intact and those are protected from chafing the sensors are fine.

One solution to a failed covering is to pull the sensors, cut the wires, install vinyl sleeving, and solder the wires back together.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
