Whenever I release my parking brake, I have a hell of a time getting the handle to stay down. Depending on how long it's been on, it sometimes takes several miles of driving and poking the handle back down to get it to stay put. Every once in a while it bounces up enough to engage the first notch on the ratchet. Anyone ever run into this before, and what was the fix? It seems like a sticking cable or weak return springs could be a possibility.

Hmm...must either be really simple, or really weird. Thwacking the parking brake handle all the time gets sort of old, though... -
How many clicks does it take to fully engage the parking break? I think the bent. says 8. It could just be loose.Comment

Do the pads stick or drag at all? The location of the cables means they can get clogged with dirt easily if you ever end up in mud or dirt (although in an e30, I can't imagine why you'd do that). Pull off the rear brake rotors and clean it all out. The parking brakes really aren't that though to remove if you have a Bently manual handy.Comment
