hit a curb.,... got a few questions.

the rear of my car slid into a curb, fucked up the bottle cap pretty good, and the suspension on that side has tons of positive camber and is toed wayyy in.

It seems like the trailing arm is bent judging by the obvious and stress cracks in the paint and such. the subframe seems like its in the same spot, doesnt look out of place or anything.

my question is do you think i fucked up the unibody at all or do you think i will be safe simply replacing the trailing arms and subframe?

this is probably somthing that should be checked out on a frame rack.....but i have one of them so...

anybody with similar experiences and their outcomes?

I slid into a curb one in midwinter, there was black ice all over the road and I lost control. Both bottlecaps on the drivers side were bent, and the front control arm was bent as well. I replaced it and the car has been fine since. I was going pretty damn fast, but nothing happened to the rear so you must have been booking. How fast were you going?

I did the same thing awhile back, I had to replace the trailing arm, and subframe. After that everything was fine, and it sounds like mine was far worse that what you did. Good luck!

i was gunna do the subframe, but the A arm came out so easily i figured it couldint of messed with the subframe, the A arm mounting tabs wernt tweaked or anything, im gunna check it out on the alignment rack next week after i throw the e36 rack in. I hope its all within spec

Probably tweaked the strut tower too, pretty common if you bent the trailing arm.

had this happen about 6 years back, hit a diesel slick in a slow left hander in the rain. car snapped round one way then back around and tagged a kerb pretty hard. took the car immediately to a well respected body shop and had them put it on a 'genesis' rack to ensure the car was not bent. once that was confirmed, replaced the rear crossmember and a few other bits and it drives like new after a re-check on the genesis and an alignment.

you could try to put a rear strut bar on and see if it fits to tell if you bent your shock tower......or i guess you could just measure the distance.

measuring with layman's equipment is not going to tell this person anything unless the car is very bent.
