    tightening tie rod end nut

I know there is a thread out there that says to just put a jack underneath the bearing, which I did. However, the damn thing is still moving!

Is my only other option lock plier on the boot? Anyone ever take off the upper rubber boot ring to get some clearence to slide the boot down a little, so you can get pliers on there?

    Jack it up some more!

Or, remove the tie rod end, clean both surfaces completely, then try again. I've run into this problem on an inner control arm ball joint, but jacking it up a little more allowed me to tighten the lock nut.

A nice block of wood gave me the extra lift to lock that bearing up.

      thanks
