e30 M3 Offset CAB Wheel Orientation

Step one of my suspension refresh was rebuilding the front end... CAB's tie rods, etc...

I am curious to know if there is anything to consider when purchasing a lowering spring and 16" wheel/tire package due to the offset M3 CAB moving the wheel forward. I ask because the clearance with the current OE 14" wheel/tire setup rubs the brake duct plastic, therefore I have removed it... It does seem by shortening the spring may eliminate the rub, but I have not made it that far...

Is this normal? Should I even worry about this?

I installed M3 cabs after having the IE3's and Konis, and it didn't cause any problems.

The change in caster isn't enough to cause any rubbing or adverse suspension effects.

I am no pro at this and will be installing these in the near future since they are in the mail but here it goes. Let me know if i am wrong.

The control arms look like a boomerang and the M3 bushings are offset. So you know how the CA lok installed. Think about the rear of the CA being brought out towards the outside of the car. The front of teh CA will push the wheel forward a little bit causeing more caster. Which is better for turn in's and helps eliminate the floating feeling at higher speeds. This is what i have gathered and this is also why i am changing to these
