    Lost my ABS today

Been working on my car for the entire summer on and off. Well basically something else breaks after I fix the first one. But today I hit a dip and then the ABS lights comes on, it isn't working cause I tested it at about 35 MPH, actually took some effort to get it to lock too.

I'm sure its one of the sensors but I don't feel like looking right now, anyone run without it? Car is never driven in rain, I have experience in driving cars built before ABS and I am running on 225s. Am I stupid for not fixing it right away? Fastest I ever go is 45-50 since I just use it to get to school and work.

Or do you guys actually stop faster without the ABS once you get used to the car?

You'll be fine. Did you ever test your ABS before the light came on? These cars are ~20 years old. I'd be susprised if ABS works in half of e30s or the air bag for that matter.

Yea I did, worked normal pulsated until I was at around 3 MPH and skid the last few inches until I stopped.

Know what you mean About the older stuff, I hope my E34's airbag never feels like exploding in my face while I am on the freeway. Should put a MtechII in now I guess.

Will pull the bulb when I take out my cluster for the millionth time to change another bulb that burnt out, the speedo doesn't like up now.

I swear I don't tell anyone to buy a BMW unless they are willing to put up with little things that go wrong and have the patience to fix it, otherwise we will have everyone crying about how their BM Dubya is a POS that is falling apart.

Really? I only know girls with Hondas and Gm cars. 40k miles and they are on a second or third transmittion. I'd never recommend an e30 for a girl friend - girls need lots of air bags.

With the way lots of people drive, I'm surprised some cars last as long as they do. Daily curb checks, slamming it into park while rolling, bumping into random things, never washing road grime off the underside... all that stuff...

My sister had tar on the side of the car for months, and said its the street pavers fault for working when people have places to go. And she never uses the windshield shield, I should take her to a junk yard and show her what the interior is going to look like if she doesn't take 10 seconds of her time to take care of something.
