So I'm going to be going through the brake system on my 325iC and replacing just about everything, just so I know it's all been done and done correctly. I'm going to be going with Brembo solid-face rotors and I'll also be rebuilding all four calipers to make sure they're in tip top shape. The two things I'm not sure about are which brake fluid and which brake pads I should select.
This car will most likely never see the surface of a track, but I would like to enjoy my drives through the twisty Oregon backroads (suspension will be gone through next). I also know that the brakes are the most important system of a car. For those two reasons, I'd like something with decent performance.
The thing is, I live in an apartment without access to a hose, and even if I did I don't want the hassle of washing my wheels after every drive. Because of that, I require a pad with very little to no dust. I also don't want the sound of my brakes ruining a beautiful drive, so little to no noise would be a huge plus as well.
Lastly, I don't have a ton of money to spend.
So, is this like just about anything else where you get to pick two of the three options?
1. Performance
2. Low Dust & Noise
3. Cost
If so, #1 and #2 are most important to me and I'll just have to find some way to get the money. I've heard Hawk HPS's are good, but they're more than twice the cost of others and I've heard they're dusty. I've also heard good things about PBR/Axxis pads, which are very affordable but are quite dusty as well.
I'd really appreciate your insight guys, thanks in advance!
