Subframe Removal... I know but I dont understand the other thread

    Subframe Removal... I know but I dont understand the other thread

    So I got everything disconnected. The big nut is out, I hammered it out from the top. I took off both plates. trailing arm is the only thing left, but are parallel and on jack stands.

    The subframe isnt coming off. I am assuming the bushing is getting caught. Now the question is. where do I apply the leverage and waht tool to break it lose. Thanks.

      yea my bad. REAR SUBFRAME. I took the two holding plate off, the two 22mm nut, and the actual bolt from the undeneath the rear seat. I unbotl all the break mechanism and took out the ebrake line. Nothing is connected. But it wouldnt come out.

            genius. I was thinking i had to remove the whole back end to do these. Where do the subframe bolts come up into the body? under the rear seats? or in the trunk?

                Under the rear seat. You just have to pull the bottom cushion out.

                  Just pray the aluminum doesnt break off inside. I had to get mine out with a die grinder and chisel. :(

                    that is likely the most common case for ease of removal, due to the required forces not being of easy access. I tried pry bar above subframe and below body but you bend metal that way.
                    Tried multiple ways and ended up shaking the diff and adding force with lever. Ends broke anyhow.

                    They are not hard to get out. Big drill bit and a chisel for the rest of it, if theres anything left. Once the bit gets in a certain depth, the rest breaks free.

                        yep, this worked like a charm. One hit from a 4 lb hammer and the subframe broke loose.

                          When I had all the bolts out I took a punch the size of the bolt and put it up in the bushing and hit it from side to side until it wiggled and came loose. Prying didn't work for me but this did.
