If you're going to spend that much, why not get proven Ground Control parts? These may fit exactly what you want, though. YMMV.

I think definitely ground controls. We've got a local guy who has the D2's on his track car, he owns everyone in his class and swears by D2's but he's the only person who I've seen swear by them, and he got his for free since he was the test dummy for their kit. I personally wouldn't trust them at all. GC has had a great reputation for having their kits on track cars and racing and haven't seen many problems from them either.

everyone with rx7's, 240's, ae86's say their crap and those are mainly people who drift so it doesnt seem like a good investment

Also, GC as the best customer service I've ever dealt with. You won't be getting that with D2s

My friend's buddy is the original State-side rep for D2. He and 5 or 6 of his friends all run D2's on their hot-rod Jap cars. They all swear by them and tell me I should pick up a set for the eta and the M3. I've driven the cars and their cars all have fairly aggressive rates, but for the most part they are drift cars and the setup is great for that. One guy has a CRX and it does well at the auto-x.

The quality is very nice up close, but it is purple. I'd buy them if H&R stopped producing coilovers.

For what its worth I ran some D2's in my SVT, they worked well as they were about the only 'true' coilover for the car.

They are however manf. in the same Chinese factory as K-sport; they share all of the same products. I held a set of 700 dollar Ksports up against 1300 dollar D2's and literally everything was the same aside from the colors.

                          Truth x eleventybillion.

Plus, GC will work with YOU to get the spring rates that will best match your needs.

Generic coilovers vs. custom application? Hmmmm.... tough choice.

Personally, I got nothing against D2s. But as mentioned before, I found out through their hydraulic ebrakes that they are the same exact thing as K-Sport.

I know of a local e30 owner running D2s and the car seems to do alright. I drove on it once but I cannot recall well enough to tell you how it really felt. But for the extra nickel and dimes that GC asks for... it just makes much more sense to go with them.
