Touring specific Daily driver suspension information - koni H&R

    hi guys,

1988 325i RWD LSD touring, sunroof, sports interior, bbs rims, towbar.
This is a daily driven 500.000 kilometre car, and comfort is super important.

After weeks of thinking and doubting, i made the plunge and chose 6cyl specific koni sports and H&R' touring specific sports.

    front:
    koni 8641-1021Sport softest
    H&R 29684-1
new pads, thicker upper rubber pad
    new topmounts
    new control arm
    M3 eccentric lollipop bushes

    rear
    koni 80-2522Sport softest
    H&R 29684-1
new pads, thicker lower rubber pad
new topmounts (E46 cabrio), topmount reinforcement plates.
new subframe bushes, new trailing arm bushes
new brake plates, new brake lines from tunnel to caliper
    new ABS sensors
    new FAG wheel bearings
    new exhaust heat shield

Basically, the chassis is restored with all new OEM or OEM like bushes and mounts. I'm sure i'm the first one doing this on this car. Everything was rotted, rusted, stuck, broken. I found broken springs, subframe with 1cm play, bleeder valves stuck, srping perches rotted away, etc...so spent a good 3 weeks on my back welding, hammering, cursing, bleeding. It is a big job but i loved doing it. Cost total around 2000 eur.

The koni sport and H&R sport is really very comfy still, no issues whatsoever, it is lovely. I'm 45 so no rockhard bricks for me. To be honest, i feel almost no less comfort than stock.
The car is lowered barely, i'm happy i put in the thicker pads.

Hope this helps for future touring owners.

    cheers, Jan from Belgium
