    Rattling Noise on Right Side

I sort of just posted this thread here since I figured the problem is one of those four things.

Anyway, as I'm casually driving along obeying all limits and laws, there is this rattling noise coming from the right side of the car. I can't tell if it's the front or back area, but it'll make the noise in harmony with the vibration of the general tire as it goes over the general inconsistencies of the road. It won't be noticeable on a larger bump, but the small stuff makes it rattle. It rattles like change in your pocket--that sort of sound.

Car is in tune (minus driver's front wheel bearing). Suspension is not that old--at least shock and spring wise.

    What do you guys think?
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

    Sway bar end link perhaps?

I guess I have to lift my car up and wiggle everything around...

I thought it would be a control arm ball joint, but I'm not sure.

OP, did you find out what the noise was? My car is doing something similar to what you described. I was thinking control arm ball joints...

Make sure the rear brake caliper "anti-rattle" clips are in place, I had a similar issue until I realized they were missing. The noise was most pronounced over lower speed rough roads and rail road track crossings.

Even though the rattle was coming from the back, it was hard to pinpoint while driving, I couldn't tell if it was from the front or back.

On these cars a common rattle is due to the gland nut holding the strut insert into the housing being loose. Give that a shot.

              Wow old thread!

Turns out it was my brakes. I replaced the front pads and rotors - noise went away.

I've actually forgotten about that noise.

Thanks for the tips. I'll report back if i find out what it is.

                edit:
the rattle turned out to be my tie rods and ball joints
