im looking around for a setup for my 86 model. i just want to know what springs would be ideal for it since im looking for a drop rate of at least 2.5 - 3 inches.

There are not many springs out there that will drop the car that much. FK 75/50 might get you there, but not many people have those springs. You are talking about a drop mainly acquired by coilovers, but those are a bit more expensive.-tim
