    hd vs sport

I was told thta the bilstien hd's have the same valve as the sports, and can be used on a lowered car yet less money
tht the sports have to be used on lowered cars only

reason I ask, I want lowered springs, already have the sports for the rear adn found on another forum the hd's for the front and the seller says same strut

dont want to make a mistake

HD aren't much shorter than stock and are stiffer valved than sports.

Conclusion, get sports, they're shorter and inverted.

I will make this quick and easy. HD Billsteins will blow out if you install them on a car with a lowering kit installed. They will last at most 1000 miles and that is being VERY generous. Put out the extra cash and buy the sports. you will be much more satisfied with them. So just roll around on the stock shit for a little longer and then save your money for the right stuff.

Weird how I ran USED HDs with soft ass Eibachs for 5,000 miles. Unless you speak from experience, stop typing.

running on shock for 5000 miles doesnt mean anything. Running comfortably is a completely different story and yes I do know from experience and know many people who have tried to get the HD's for their lowering kits as well and they have a nice ride for a few months and then they are riding on bumpstops. Just because you ran for 5k doesnt mean the shocks were in good shape. And if you believe in running them with lowering springs then why did you remove them after 5k?

those HDs are still running around town on another car, because BOGEs were out. I went with H&R cup kit and then Korman Track suspension, then 5-lugged, and now working on coilovers. I know my suspensions, and you know people.

Oh mighty fiend, at point will share all those adventures with the rest of the community :). Build pics? Project thread? Please share.

Oh, and if he does come back (3 years later), I'll send them back to Billstein for warranty, and let him ride on some Tokicos or KYBs for a week.

The HDs may not blow but theyll probably be running on the bumpstops. Hell, even sports are close to bumpstops with IE3s

Id get sports unless youre running an m3 spring
