because all sport model e30s came with Bilsteins, and non-sport models didn't. Worst part, that all used "iS" struts you'll find are either 20 years old or are approaching that age.

'87 Sport models also came with stiffer springs. Then too many US owners complained that the ride was too harsh, so they went with the standard springs the next year.

Dont know where you got your facts on that one but 99% of the iS models that came out came with Boge struts. Billstein sports were mostly available aftermarket but they were offered as an option at the dealer for most e30s.

WRONG. All sport models came with Bilsteins HDs. That was part of the "Sport" package. They received slightly lower/harder springs, and Bilsteins HD. Those Billies didn't qualify for lifetime warranty from Bilstein, because they have a BMW emblem on them. Take it from a person who's owned 4 "eS" and 3 "iS" models. It's not a coincidence.

Boge came on all non-sport models. Billsteins may have been an option for non-sport models.

oh you're getting mad. How cute. So explain why every single iS I have every worked on has had Boge struts. . . You must be reading all this info on wikipedia or something rather than getting the real facts from real cars.

and thats great that you owned sport models but I own 2 myself and have worked on a few dozen

not getting mad at all, just trying to protect the rest of r3v from misinformation.

Who knows, maybe you don't work on too many e30s?
