"Digitalwave, the sale only includes the GC-spec street springs 375, 430, 475, 525. Other rates are still at the normal price."

TJ's response when he asked if we were allowed to choose our own custom rates for the E30 M3 kit, which works in all E30's.

I'm going to e-mail him anyways, see what I can do. I'll post with his repsonse later.

          "Dan:

Those spring rates are part of the sale. I accept Paypal
(paypal@xxxxxxxxxxxx.com), Visa/MC or Money order. Shoot me your zip and
I'll give you a shipping total and purchase info."

I asked him if I could order them with spring rates 325 in the front and 475 in the rear, and he said that was part of the sale. So e-mail him with your order, and pay the man and get a good deal on this stuff!!!

Call GC and ask the experts.

I have a 318 though... it won't drop like the 325s. I'll have to call the guys at GC, but gathering from the impression I got from the others, GC aren't the most helpful guys, and I don't think they can really give me an answer. oh well, ill call em anyway.

I have an M42 also, albeit in a cabrio (a little more weight). I am running 450f and 600r. I was told that you want to keep the rate differential somewhere between 100-150. I had to use the stiffer rears because the fact that others experienced coil bind with lesser springs.

are you using the 6" springs? Can you post some pictures of your ride height and also let us know how far up/down you can still go?

                    Thanks!!!

from knowing H&R Sports' spring rate, 600 seems wayy too stiff for me. I'm running Bilstein Sports though, so maybe I will have to.

Yes I am using 6" springs. I can go down probably another 1.5" in the front and another 1" in the back.

I have 7" front springs, and my perch is all the way down in my sig. I also have 6" rear springs, and the perch is all the way up.

I'd get 7" front and rear springs next time around. Suspension travel is a good thing.

I have 300F 475R, doesn't get much softer (in fact never seen softer than 300F on an E30 with GC's), but it's still very stiff. To put things in perspective, H&R Sports are 190lb/in in the front.

                          I'd say copy mine.
might as well ask this here instead of elsewhere

but if I used 300/475 in a heavier car, say.....3100lbs, they would be softer, right?
                          Maybe too soft?

Correct. For further evidence look at what GC puts on the front of an E36 M3 (a 3100lb car).

You also need to take into account the fact that a stiffer spring will sag less with the weight of the car. Therefore, you want a longer spring for a softer rate and a shorter spring for a stiffer rate.
