    shock advice

    need some advice on shocks.

my car has a stock setup, as far as i can tell. i have eibach lowering springs that i intend to use and i'd like some advice on what shocks to run.

it's got 225/50/15s kuhmos on those rims.

i don't want to rub the tires, and don't want to have to roll the fenders either. i'm not doing track days. it's just a city car that i want to look better and handle better. okay, maybe it'll go down occasional back country road like i'm 18yrs old and the fuzz ain't looking.

so what shocks should i run? bilstiens, tokico, boge/sachs, or what else? if possible, example pictures of other's cars, how much it lowered your car or how high your car is standing right now would be helpful too.

    thanks,

Dampers (shocks/struts) have nothing to do with ride height. Your springs determine how low or high your car is. If the car is being lowered dramatically, I suggest koni or bilstein sports. If it is just a minimal to moderate drop, KYB.

Next time search a bit. There have been a couple threads recently covering the same thing.

+1 on Koni's or Bilstein's for those springs.

If your wheels have the right offset, you won't have any rubbing issues with those tires. I have 225/45-15's mounted on Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.3 15x7 wheels (25mm offset) and there's plenty of clearance.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

need shorter springs! I would pair them w/ bilstein's but koni's aren't too bad ;)
