Anybody know anything about KW Coil-overs?

I haven't been able to find any real info on them.

Are they a true coil-over set up front and rear, requiring bracing or any mods to the rear shock towers for space, or an spring w/ a height adjuster like GC?

Also, does anybody know the spring rates or if they use a universal-type race spring?

    Just curious, really.

    Thanks in advance.

      No, that tells me nothing.

Damn. I was hoping they were a true coil-over. The rear GC's are such a pain in the ass when you lift the car. You usually have to reach underneath as you're lowering it down so that the spring doesn't fall over.

you cant do a true coilover without more modifications, at least there isnt a off the shelf kit for that (yet)

          Which is why I wrote:

The question was really just for future reference. I would like to eventually build up an e30 with true coil-overs, a cage and probably a built s50 or m60.

nor is it likely to be one soon. not without some serious engineering

KW Variant 2 is true Coil Over if I'm not mistaken.????

My friend has them on his VW... the front spring perch collars rusted to the threaded bodies

IIRC the front bodies are just threaded stock units. I may be incorrect though.

I wrote this on the another thread, but here it is again:

"I wanted to get KWs, but if anything, I will be getting GCs, here is a part of the reason:

the KW dist. in N.A. does not carry any of the E30 line.

Tunershop, I believe, is the only shop in N.A. that sells them. However, supposedly, tunershop sells KW as a 'grey market' import. They are not licenced by KW N.A., which means that you cannot get warantee from the N.A guys, and according to the people from KW N.A., you cannot get any warantee from KW Germany either.

                          Just something to think about."

And apparently KW N.A. is attempting to bring over the E30 line for 2005, but who knows the validity of that claim is
