    16 year old needs help.

    Hey there.
I'm 16, and just got my first car, 1990 325is.
It's all stock, but It looks rediculous, like it's on stilts. It's driving me crazy. I don't have much money, and I want to know if putting H&R sport springs on my stock Bilstien shocks would be okay. Make it handle better/worse? I eventually want to get Bilstein Sport Shocks, but I don't know how soon I'll be able to afford that.
    Thanks for the help.

To actually answer the op's question, H&R sports on stock shocks will eventually blow them. However, if you really can't stand it, you'll be replacing the shocks anyway, so might as well blow the stock ones :/

I'm not really a fan of ruining parts, even if I do end up replacing them.
Do you know of any place I could get a deal on both shocks and springs?
Prefferably the H&R sports, and Bilstien Sports.

H&R sports will give you a subtle, middle range drop. Pick up a used set for cheap.

Like Kronus said, go ahead and blow the stock dampers (if they're not already gone). Once you have bilstein sports, you're just going to throw the stockers away.

Let me ninja edit. I'll post the links.

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=466763 Best price on bilstein sports.

As for the springs, they sold. A member on E30tech was selling them 9 days ago.

Search around here a bit and you'll find a bunch of threads about shocks on lowered cars, here's one-http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...lstein+lowered

Nice first car! and welcome to r3v.

Look for the KYB/Vogtland deal on eBay.

                Should do you right.

The thread posted shows my views on KYB. It's a good alternative in my opinion.

                    Okay! Thanks alot!

I'll keep eyes open for a used set of KYB's, or H&R's.
I'm going to do a little more reading.

                      Don't get used.

Save up the money and get new stuff.

                        I need a job. haha.
Parts don't come very quickly on a weekly allowence.

I'll probably save for new ones, unless I find some with low miles, for a good price.

                          Pair them with some KYBs?

I don't really know anything about vogtland springs.
How are they compared to the H&R's?
