I was reading a few posts where the strut towers had up to 3/4" less than the factory number of 39 1/2"'s. Knowing that the previous owner had a "mechanic" drill new holes about 3/4" further out to fit the pass side strut, I thought I would look into the actual measurement. No indications of a wreck.
Keep in mind I have the motor out.
Sitting on the ground - 38 13/16" (centerline of top of strut.)
Jacked up with bottle jack center of lower frame behing rack - 39 7/16" (cotos.)
Thats a full 5/8" for those in Rio Landa.
Keep in mind my motor is out. If someone else runs into this and after jacking up motor they have slight or no difference... loosen the motor to motor mount bolts and recheck. The motor can act like a brace being that the frame is secured to it on either side via the motor mounts.
Thought i would pass this on.
