what is the difference in suspension from ix to i

what is the difference in suspension from an ix to lets says a 318i if both cars are four door and you are looking to get an aftermarket set up in the front.wouldnt they be somewhat universal being that both cars are e30 chassis

I think rears are the same fronts are completely different. 4 door has nothing to do with it, e30 chassis has a little do with it but fact that front wheels are driven on the IX has A LOT to do with it. Springs for an I might be okay on an IX but I'm not sure, h&r does make IX specific springs and bilstein makes IX specific front strut inserts.
