Bilstein Sports w/ KW 60/40 springs?

Would this setup be any good? I'm worried the springs will be too short for the shocks. Also i'm pretty sure the springs will pop out of the shocks when the car is lifted... right?

Should I just spring for the full shock/spring combo? 700.00 is more than I want to spend when I can get billy sports discounted through work. Thanks.

I know plenty of people with Billys and 60/40 springs and they have had no problems, Thats what I'm going to get when my ST shocks from my ST 60/40 kit blows out. I am sure Bilstein has better shocks than whatever comes with all these suspension kits.

I don't feel like I need coils. Just a nice drop.

I decided to go with Dinan Stage 1 suspension kit ordered through the shop I work at, Car Tender. The kit consists of Dinan Tuned Bilsteins and Dinan springs. I plan on running this setup during winter/all seasons and maybe getting camber plates to go just a bit lower in the front. This is a daily driver spending most of it's time on the highway and shitty city streets. I'm aiming for a comfy cruiser w/ a pretty damn good looking stance!

Alex i'll take you up on that offer when you get in town. I think you've got my number, if not PM me and we'll figure something out. My car currently has Dinan stage 1 setup, but for an IX... It looks like a 4x4 because I do not carry the extra weight of the ix awd system and the Bilsteins are shot.. I'm pretty sure they were used when I bought them even though I was told they were brand new but that's another story. On a side note, my roommate bought shawn's ix so when I get the proper springs i'm going to sell them to him.

E34john - I couldn't find a good enough deal on the KW's to make it a viable purchase. People say Suspension Techniques are the U.S. suppliers of KW but i'm not sure I trust that company for some reason. That's just me.

Raxe has this setup on his e30 and I think with some fine tuning (camber plates, etc) you could get it as low as someone with billy sports/IE3 springs but without so much stiffness.. I'm shooting for driveability as well as good looks.

The eta will be resprayed back to delphin metallic due to immature drunkedness.

Yeah I still have your number. I will be doing some work on that saturday of the break so I will give you a call that day and you can see if you like it or not. The ride is alittle harsh but not to bad for right now.

Who said harsh is bad?! It just depends on what you plan on doing with the car mostly. If I had it my way I would have an e39 540i as a daily or even a e34 540i as a daily and i'd make the e30 a track rat!

I have Suspension Techniques 60/40. Got them off someone after thats what was shipped when he ordered KW. Works really good for my purpose cause it looks good and the ride is great. Aggressive but definitely not the spring rates of real KWs that I can't find anywhere. ST isn't bad their kit is really cheap too. I am actually getting their swaybars when I finish my E34, and the green parts are cool.

Hmm.. Thinking about just pairing some ST 60/40 speedtech springs with the dinan billy sports. Thoughts anyone?

You shouldnt need a skid plate. I dont have one right now and I have been doing really well. Just make sure to look at the road but then again you do drive to seattle everyday.

I hear you on that, It's mainly for piece of mind anyway. Plus I feel like even if you watch as carefully as you can at one point ONE pothole will sneak up on you. You just gotta be prepared.
