Probably H&R OE springs, they don't lower too much. M3 springs are probably expensive don't know how much but you used ones aren't too hard to find.

Yeah, I'd vote for H&R OE Sport as well. If you need M3 springs, I have a nice low mile set though!

The idea appeals to me to rebuild a complete stockish suspension. why not?

Not all of us want to deal with scraping oil pans on our way to work. I sure as hell dont. Will probably have M3 or OE sport springs on my E30 soon.

Because they ride nice offer a sporting nature and reasonable ride that is why.
