    steering knocking drives me nuts

I got steering wheel knocking when passing over road bumps, potholes, bad roads etc...town cruising is nightmare (roads over here are disaster)
I changed...whole front suspension, M3 CAB's, new shocks allround, car is lowered 20mm...on motorway feels awesome but this steering knocking and light shaking in town is awfull..
Looks like steering wheel is moving in my hands, vibrates, no matter of speed...
I also changes tires, rebalanced wheels but didn't help

    please help friends

    I changed...whole front suspension
Did that include new control arms, tie rods, upper strut mounts, sway links, and sway bushings? If not, it sounds like there is wear in one, or all, of those and you have a bit more work to do.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Replace the entire tie rod on each side.

I am also suffering from a bit of this. Suspension completely rebuilt, aligned, new balanced wheels and tread. Only difference is Im running the GC camber plates. That rebuild includes tie rod assemblies. No vibration, just the clunk over bumps. I'm kind of lost. Ideas anyone. It is only coming from the passenger side front.

i have this same problem and have also replaced everything up front.

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that everyone in here with the same issue has an airbag car.

i've pinned the issue down to the actual steering column itself, mine rattles over certain bumps, it got much better after i replaced all that stuff, but it's still there to a degree.

i'm pretty sure the upper steering knuckle, right at the end of the steering column on the engine bay side of the firewall, is shot and causing slop in the column.

Tighten the big nut in the footwell. Lock a monkey wrench to it and turn the wheel this completely solved my issue

ive heard that solution multiple times before, the nut seems like it's tight as hell and won't budge.

turn the wheel which way? how much?

Clockwise until it won't turn... It seems tight until you do the wheel trick

My car has no airbag..is this ''nut'' same for airbag and non airbag cars?

This really pisses me off...I rebuild the complete suspension, drives like a dream but every time my tire touches bump, pothole or even a chicken shit on the road I got kick and steering moves in my hands up-down mostly....
And car is not even lowered
