    slammed w/GC coils Q's

im sure someone on here can help out with this. can i see some pics of slammed e30's with shortened strut housings on a GC setup ? must be 16" wheels with lower profile tires. im going to 5 lug and i want to make sure the 1" cutting gc does is enough for what i want. i was tucking 195/50's.

but that was all the way down. had GC plates and the conversion kit. i want to run smaller tires and still tuck. (NOTE: this suspension is for my bronzit not my old black car)

so a good all the way low pic of a true GC setup would be enough to give me an idea. i dont want to have to redo my suspension after the new 5 lug is on.

..thats what you asked for right?

i dont know why you'd want to go lower than that on 16s because your oil pan will be scrapping.

at my ride height i was hitting the road markers when i changed lanes.

AST's are nice for a pure track application. but i could never justify the price for a DD

yeah they ride way better than GC's on the street though. my cars not gonna be a DD at all.

but whats the reason you want to go lower than than 1"?

what wheel/tire setup do you plan on running?

when i finish my RS's i want to be able to tuck tires . i like wide and stretched w/ fender pretty much on tire. old sportmax/bilstein and GC bastardized setup didnt support that. suspension couldnt go low enough, wheels werent wide enough and tires were too large.\

wont determine tires till i have the width decided

Why do people have engine swaps and go with thin tires?! How do you guys get traction or do you not care for it at all?

                    Serious question :)

I thought when you buy GC they make a special kit that come cut down to size?

Well, if you do a little bit of your own research you would know what they come like and what options you have.... have you even looked on their site at all?

multiple wheel sets. a set with proper tires and a couple sets with stretch. i dont plan to be hard on the gas with expensive wheels and a slammed e30. when raised and proper tires the gas pedal will get used more.

GC can shorten the housings more than 1 inch. Its no problem with the struts, no problem with the damping, but it can be a problem for the oilpan.

It doesn't cost extra either, we do it all the time.

I shortened mine an inch and a half, this pic was the day they were installed with a couple turns left to go down. They are 550 lb springs in the front and front camber was ~3.8 in this pic. 215/40's on 9's
