will lowering springs work with stock suspenion?

i did a search and couldnt find the exact answer i was looking for

i have stock shocks and not quite sure if the previous owner had changed them or not, but it feels stiff when i drive it hard around corners, but anyhow, i was thinking about getting lowering springs, what would be the best brand to get to use on stock suspenion because i cant afford to get new shocks right now and i dont want to wait cuz im getting 16" ASA's rims on my car probably by Monday ?

how can i check if my suspenion has been changed or not?

    thanks guys[/b]

something not too low.. maybe a H&R cup kit.. its ok to drive with lowering springs for a little bit with stock springs, but not a good idea

Just wait till you can do it right. You have to remove the springs in the front to change the shocks anyway so just wait till you can get proper shocks. It will save you from doing twice what tends to be the most laborious and most expensive part of the swap.

Wait till you can afford springs, shocks, top mounts, and an alignment.
      Im now E30less.

I did everything I could with the money I had at the time. Trust me, you will not want to do it again once you get in there.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

You recommended a kit, which implies springs and shocks. Completely not what he asked. The Cup Kit is also one of the lowest setups out there.
