Meyle front strut mounts = trash

I bought some back in September when I got the Bilsteins, and they're already shot. The bearings in them are binding so much that my steering rack won't even return to the center position while I'm driving. 4,000 miles and I'm already going to have to replace them.

But what is packing? I may have, I just don't know what that means. I followed the Bentley when I did it.

They were really smooth when I first got them.

What kind of grease? Just slather it in there over the bearings?

                Bearing grease.
                I use redline synthetic.

pop off the dust covers, slather it in there with your finger, move it around and force it between the ball bearings. do this from both top and bottom. more = better

If they came un-packed like I think, they will be smooth since all the bb's are smooth and there is no wear on them.

Too late to grease them now? Or are they pretty much toast?

may help. worst case, you buy new ones if these dont shape up again.

Use any standard wheel bearing grease. We use a Kendall grease.

                          CV-2 works
We also have Royal Purple(?) grease as well.
Might even have some of that kooky Kendall stuff the Wrong Coasters use too! ;)
