    noobie e30 build

I'm looking for a budget oriented suspension set up that will allow me to run likely a 16x8 in the future...maybe 15"... I dont want to have to swap suspension when I do this to avoid rubbing. What are some options. I've read quite a bit but am still trying to really figure this whole thing out.

Obviously a full GC setup would be ideal, but not sure thats quite in the budget at this moment.

I know the general feeling on D2, but I may be able to get a GREAT price and I have some friends who run em and love em...

    H&R Cup?

    spring/strut combo?

    all on a 91 318is

There are guy on here running h&R Race and Billie sports rolling on 16's I believe. Heavily rolled fenders, but it's do-able. And that suspension setup won't break the bank. I'd check the wheel/tire fitment thread and the 16" wheel suspension setup thread.

    Body roll+perspective=the poor man's drop

when people say "GC semi coil overs" what are they referring to? Setting the coil adjuster on stock spring perch?

basically just uses an externally threaded tube with a large "nut" which acts as a spring seat. That and a spring are installed onto the shock spring seat as a normal spring would be. this allows for adjustment in height. Just go to ground-control.com they can set you up.

you likely could use stock struts, but the spring rates and the drop will likely create issues down the road. I'd upgrade while you're at it.
