    Suspension options for early euro

I'm researching suspension options on my 84 323 and am not having much luck. Consider the car a daily driver/street machine; I want to drop it some, but not slam it. I was thinking H&R sports/bilstein sports but haven't been able to get a definitive answer on the correct part number for the springs. I looked on H&R European's site and they list the 29664-1 springs as the correct spring for the 323i (most US sites list the 29664 spring for the stateside 318i; are these the same part?). Can anyone confirm that 29664 is the correct springs for the 323i?

Looking at the spring rates, it doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't the 29664, if used on the lighter 318i and 323i, have a reduced front spring rate? I assume the rear spring rates are less due to the increased travel available with the higher arches?

    Spring-----------------------Front(lb/in.)-------------Rear(lb/in.)

    H&R Sport-----------------------180------------------------380
    H&R Sport (29664)---------------200------------------------285

The base part numbers on bilstein's German site are the same (P36-0335 & B36-2027) although what is called the sport in the US is called the B8 Sprint.

    Thanks,
    David
