E30 Bilstein Sport vs Koni SA length

Are these both the same exact length?

How much shorter are the Corrado inserts that people sometimes use?

    Thanks

Same overall length, but the internals of the Konis allow for more travel. IIRC

Not sure on how much shorter the G60's are. Mucci would know that (lol.)

Jay @ GC will know the answers to all of your Q's.

Yeah internals are another issue. I wanted to find out if there were different length bilsteins that we can use as I have a set of modified strut housings that are about 1/2" shorter than stock.

The koni shocks I have in my housings are exactly 4 inches shorter than stock struts.
          Will take pics tonight.

Whatever Konis Jay@GC uses seems to be the shortest that fit in the E30 housings. Might want to PM him. I'm sure he will help you out when he gets time.

I'll PM him to find out what they use, but I am leaning towards re-valved Bilstein Sports vs Koni at the moment.

If you do that, I believe there is a way to cut out half of the bumpstop to give more travel room.

Yeah saw that thread.. My concern is if there is a bilstein sport of the right size that I can use (for late model strut housing but shorter)...otherwise I'll need another set of strut housings.

Well, there goes that. GC does not modify Bilstein inserts.

I would think not. They sell Koni. Jay still knows lengths and what not. Stephen is rolling on coils w/ Billies I think. Get him in here.

I cut my bumpstops on my Bilstein Sports. I have the GC 440/650 kit and while I'm not hammered low, I have the collars as low as the will go without cutting the housing, I feel I have plenty of travel and the ride is amazing!! I have always run Bilsteins in my cars and always will.

                          Cheers,
                          Chris
