I'm switching from Vorschlag to Kmac camber plates, I'll let everyone know if the e90 hats fit or not.Leave a comment:

you got any pics? i've been wanting to put a stock car with drop hats on my site. i get emails about it all the time.well rich, if its any constallation, I'm glad I purchased a set from you.
Since I'm keeping the stock springs for comfort sakes, I need every MM I can get in terms of lowering my car without compromising its stock characteristics. Your spring hats definitely meets my needs compared to the e90 ones since I'll still be pretty high regardless.
gluck with everything bro.Leave a comment:

well rich, if its any constallation, I'm glad I purchased a set from you.i guess its good and bad. mine obvi drop it more. but those do the trick and are a dif option. with my drop hats and the stock washer the drop hat is just barely touching the strut mount. if you keep the rubber spring pad in mine it will lower if 15mm. if you take it out its a little more. i'm happy with those results. i wish i had that tool so i could do that with mine to show but people who have installed them know that its just barely touching.

Yep. Those are the stock hats. It would appear the GC's SpecE30 camber plate was designed with the hat and drop in mind. I don't recommend having a stack of washers between the plate and hat. There isn't much room to gain as it is.Leave a comment:

Is that a stock spring hat in the picture? It looks like the stock hat won't work either, right? If the stock spring hat won't work, these definitely won't work. This is not correct and what I was trying to explain. I'll use a picture for reference.
See how close the camber plate is to the hat versus the stock top mount? If you add more than a 5mm drop hat, you'll be hitting the hat on the camber plate. E90 hats or richard's hats would both hit the camber plate and create a space between the seat of the plate and bottom of the hat. Thus, you cannot run both GC camber plates and drop hats. You might be able to get away with a thicker camber plate such as vorshlag or something.
Mehh...if it's close, just add a washer in there on top of the spring hat. At some point though, you might as well not bother spending the $25 on these E90 spring hats because adding washers to clear the camber plates will reduce the drop you are getting from them.Leave a comment:

Sorry, I forgot to post back on this. I installed them last friday, they fit perfect. I took out the spring pads on all 4 corners, i didnt take any pictures but i suppose i could take one with it in the same spot. I have the H&R cup kit on my 323i, (this is what i put them in). the cup kit sits low on US cars but the euros weight didnt let it go too low. NOW the car looks like its on a cup kit. very nice drop. My cost ended up being $18 for the pair. killer deal and its factory. While I was under there i instally new control arm, CABs and a new exhaust. I forgot how cool this car was.

They should work with anything that will use the stock E30 spring hats. They aren't compatible with the E36 M3 strut tower bushings that some 5-lug swap people use. They should work for E36 cars with centers strut bushings (not that anyone here cares) :p/\ Great job at showing the before and after pictures.
And Corvallis, some camber plates are built solely for the stock e30 hat. I highly doubt the E90 plates will work on something such as GC plates. The plates acknowledge the gap and is built in respect to the stock depth. Just food for thought. It would be nice to do E90 hats and GC plates.
I'm glad someone put the pictures up. I haven't had time to install mine. It's not a large drop, but it's something!Leave a comment:
