    Need a simple answer...

So, I just purchased my brakes and will be doing it this coming weekend. I figured that while I have my car up, I should install my springs as well. So my question is, can I use my stock shocks and struts with my KW/Suspension Techniques springs? I just want to lower my car already cause I'm sick of the 4x4 look. Thoughts? Flames? Proceed...

yes but leave all your tools out because you will have to redo it the right way in no time.

you mean cause the springs will eventually mess up the stock shocks?

Yup, I have those ST springs too, they are stiffer than stock and pretty low, those stock shocks/struts are probably not new either, they will blow; even faster if you combine it with a lower profile tire setup.

I personally am not a fan of blown shocks. I was on the freeway once, on a long interchange that connected a north-south freeway to an east-west freeway. A Camry driving in front of me had some really bad shocks on it, I had been watching it bounce for the last few miles. When the Camry was on the interchange, turning, it went over an expansion joint (while still turning) which upset the car to the point where I saw the rear end of the car step out a few inches. Not cool, especially on a RWD car that tends to be tail-happy when you aren't paying attention.

Go ahead and ruin the shocks if you want, just take corners and bumpy roads carefully and dont take offense when people laugh at you bouncing down the road.

I think people laugh at me anyway because my car is a POS... so it's all good...

that is dumb. just wait till you have money for shocks. there's no reason to basically do the job twice. stop sweating the look so much

You can get a set of cheap replacement KYB shocks for about $160 for all 4 wheels. Not sure how they do on a lowered setup, but they've gotta be better than old stock shocks.
