    Coil Over questions

    Hey guys,
Had a couple questions if someone can help me.
    1) I'm doing the coil over conversion and was curious about what would be the determining factor about where to locate the shelf for the spring perch? I checked out this post which was great by the way, but how did you know where to weld the ring?

Also, wondering if anyone new where I can find the bearings for these?

I am not responsible for this info, you are on your own.

    ...But just to be nice:

With that spring setup, you have to weld any "ring" on as low as you can, just above the bulge of the tire sidewall.

You really are going to have a tough time with that combo, you need every millimeter you can get. Also, it looks like you have 60mm ID springs on hardware made for 2.5 inch springs, and that it is upside down, so triple check everything before you drive too far.

That bearing should be 1.1875 OD.

    in order of quality:

    best: Aurora pnb10tg

    second best: FK FKSS10Tv

    third best: NHBB ABT10V

You will be surprised how much real live American bearings cost compared to Chinese bearings.

Do not use anything from China, or Qa-1 . Do not use anything marked as "com", "com10" or "com-10"

Thanks for your response. What do you mean by tough time? I got these for free from a local racer and he had them on his E30. So with that budget, figured I'd give them a try. Yeah, I realized the 60mm spring, I didn't really think it made much difference if the spring perch was upside down. Its still all in compression and serves one purpose, to hold the spring right? I'm certainly no expert here, and since you are from Ground Control I'd accept any advice you'd give. Thanks again.
