Steering Problems

So, since I really started driving my e30 last week, I've had a slew of problems with the steering. More and more, when I turn the wheel, it makes an awful creaking noise. Also, while going over bumps or cracks in the road, the wheel/dash? rattle like a bitch. Last night I pulled into a gas station to check my power steering fluid, and the fluids black as shit. So what do you guys think is the problem here?

Control arms, tie rods upper strut mounts, column bearings. Any or all could be the cause. A full inspection of the front suspension by a pro will tell you what needs to be replaced.
