    Camber Plate Installation Question

I just got some GC camber plates in the mail yesterday and had a question about installation.

That little bushing type thing in the middle, I was wondering where it goes. Any idea? I am using Bilstein Sports is that helps. (Excuse the awful picture)

    Thanks,
    Ryan

I'm pretty sure that piece goes on the shock shaft.

This question is probably something you should ask ground control.

I would but I am installing them today and they are closed.

Thats what I was thinking as well. Between the top of the camber plate and the nylon locking nut right?

Watch that you don't get any dirt or anything in the spherical bearing surface between the spring perch and the camber plate. I've got new control arms and new tie rods, but after the install I hear a little popping sound when I turn the wheels sometimes. (well... it's still probably a tie rod, but still, be careful)

I got everything installed and everything is awesome. I couldn't be happier. Although I have heard a pop or two, but I'm sure its just everything settling. Thanks for the help guys.

My GC plates don't look like that. Are there two different types?

They recently updated the design. I'm not sure how the old ones look.

Mine are the same shape but aren't as thick, they have no markings on them but I bought them off of GC's website when they were on sale. I also don't have the mount thing on the left.

                  Here they are:

They were under Spec E30 camber plates if that helps.

Yah those would be different than mine. I have the street plates so I think the spec e30 ones would have to be made different for the restrictions of the class.

Ok, so that means there are two different types. I hope I can still run these on the street without any problems.

Did they finally weld the three bolts that come through the shock tower to the frame they sit in?

If you are talking about the c shape frame below, they are welded.

Yeah, that's what I am talking about. I remember the early versions were just bolts/nuts I think.

They are still bolts and nuts but they are welded on as well. Should I run these on my street car or should I get some street plates like shown above?
