bad idea to auto-x with bad rsm's?

i have a small clunk over pretty much anything resembling a bump in the road, not when i change gears or anything. pretty sure its my right rear rsm. will anything get ruined if i auto-x with it?

if your tower isn't reinforced, then don't auto-x with it,you can cause some serious damage to the strut tower where the shock mounts to it

A bad RSM is a possibility, but it could just as easily be a problem with the sway bar bushings/links, subframe bushings, or rear trailing arm bushings. You need to inspect everything and find out for certain what is causing the noise. Then do the repairs indicated.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
