I haven't driven e30's in the past so I'm not familiar with the steering response of the car. When I first bought the car, the steering was crap until I overhauled the suspension. I replaced the steering rack, control arms and bushings, sway bushings, strut mounts with washers, properly aligned etc...
Now in terms of the steering wheel returning, does a e30's steering wheel return to its 12 o clock position after a turn?
Mine seem to only return back to a 10 and 2 o'clock position. If anyone can check their's for me really quick that would be great.
Let me be clear that the washers are installed and there is for sure return from the wheel. For example, if i park my car and simply rotate the wheel, the wheel will attempt to return to its normal position. In addition, if I snap the wheel at a turn, it'll return just as fast as I turned it but it seems to stop at 11 or 2 o'clock positions and i'll have to return it to center,.
