    325ix suspension on 84 318 ????

Will the suspension from my 89 325ix parts car bolt up to my 84 318 ? I was considering taking off the struts and springs and bolting it to the 318, but cant find any information as to what is different between the two. Obviously im sure the spring rate and the strut valving are probably different. Im not looking to start a argument as to whether this is a great idea or not. Im simply looking for an anwser as to whether they are interchangeable.

    Thanks in advance

    ...will not work.

    Different strut and knuckle.

    Different strut towers...

    Different EVERYTHING.

Thank u for the quick response, is it the strut diameter that makes them not fit in the strut tube ?

No, the housings are totally different. The IX housings are attached to a giant knuckle that is made to accept the front splined half shafts and bearings...similar to the rear.

The standard 2wd housings have a standard style spindle and are much simpler in design.
