Rear Strutbar installation help.

How will I install this rear strut bar on my E30? :!:

I mean,shouldnt it have a vertical "base" to screw it in place
on top of the rear strut towers on each side?
From what I can tell,I need to weld new holes on the towers with this one or am I mistaken?

Good idea. I just purchased a new strut bar.. tried to put it in but gave up in 5 mins. I didnt want to force it down and scrape the topmount screw. and also i got lazy
