Gah... do i need a new steering rack or what?

Awhile ago i started getting a moaning sound from my power steering. Temp solution was to top off my power steering fluid. This worked for awhile, but i've been having to top it off more and more.. I heard the moaning come back today ( after venturing several hundred miles in the car down to oregon and back) to find my power steering fluid has dropped a 1/2-3/4" from where it was just a couple of weeks ago.

This is really worrying me.. What needs to be replaced, the rack? the pump (is there power steering pump?)? or what.. please advise. thanks.

Find out where it is leaking first. Where the lines meet the filler bottle is a very common leak place, as are the crush sleeve at the ends of the hoses.

Squish your steering rack boots, are they liquid filled? If so time for a new rack.
