Yes sir, slapped some brand new rubber on the front and problem has basically disappeared. I need to recheck my alignment now because of my old tires. They may have thrown something off. Not to mention I installed GC plates up front so I need to check it anyway.

But yes, new tires seems to have fixed the problem by anout 95%. A thorough alignment should fix it completely.

Put my old bottelcaps/tires on the front, took it for a quick trip up the interstate and the vibrations/shimy seem to have gone away. There is still a slight shimy/vibration, but for the most part, it was gone enough for me to be happy. That being said, I wonder if it's the wheels or tires? I suppose a wheel could be bent, but it's not likely. The tires are as old as the wheels, only about 1 1/2 years and only have 5,xxx miles on them. I also suppose that the wheels/tires could still be out of balance. Any thoughts on where to start? I don't mind having my D-Force wheels on the back and bottlecaps on the front, but it looks real funny!

5k miles in almost 2yrs? Did the car sit on those wheels/tires for any period of time? It doesn't take long for tires to develop flat spots if there is weight on them without being moved.

A year and a half of the past two years I lived on base, during pilot training, so my commute was about 2 miles a day, total. Didn't sit for long and if it did, the car was on jack stands and tires where off. I'm having the fronts re-balanced tonight. I'll throw them back on tomorrow sometime and see if that fixes the shimy. If it doesn't, I'll be rolling with bottlecaps in the front and D-Force 15s in the rear until I decide what other tires/wheels to buy!

Turns out it was just the tires being out of balance. I guess that's what I get for trying to get my tires balanced on base. Had PepBoys balance them for me and everything seems fine.

Good deal! Beats buying new tires for sure.
