    KW Variant 1 coilover experiences...

as a n00b to this forum, I did some searching and didnt get any information I thought relevant to my interests.

I would like to see some photos and hear some personal experiences from those who have had the KW coilovers from tunershop.

    anyone?

they are on sale for $1382 now...

thanks in advance... picking up my first e30 tomorrow.

Try and dig up some of Qimis' old threads.
He had them back when he had his dumped alpine e30.

        Ask Madface. He rides them.

Considering these as well, as I'm not exactly comfortable with the notion of welding suspension components together.

I'm a longtime VW guy and the fellas over on vwvortex seem to highly regard KW's, so I don't see why they'd be any different for the E30.

Ask for Ingo over at tunershop. I bought some Brock B2's from him a few years back for my MKIV and he was very attentive/informative.

When I was coilover shopping I asked around and searched about these as well.

What I found to be generally what everyone was saying is that these are not meant to go on the track. If you just want to go low&slow then these are perfect. A lot of people who took these to the track (and even some street cars) have had reliability issues with these blowing and becoming leaky pretty fast.

However I heard that the variant 2 and up are much better and you can find them on a lot of high-performance cars at the track, unfortunately they only make variant 1 for the e30.

That's just what i've read about them so I don't have any first-hand experience to give you.

thanks. if I get an e30, I doubt it'll ever see the track. just not my bag.
