Going to be replacing my sway bars soon...just a few questions

Im going to be replacing my stock sway bars on my 318is soon with the cabrio front sway and the stock m3 rear sway bar soon.

Question is, since the "newer" sway bars are thicker, am I going to need new bushings?

The sway bars im going to put on are JUST the two bars, no bushings, no links.

Basically will I be able to just swap bushings and links over from the stock sways onto the newer ones.

This car is a budget build so I'm trying to spend money where it has to be spent.

    Thanks!

You need new (or used) bushings for each bar, only for the middle. The ends will work the same, as will the clamps.

Where can I purchase some affordable bushings? I can probably upgrade to the polyurethane ones at this time too.

Just get the stock bushings, from the junkyard (with the sway bars) or the dealer. Urethane wont make a difference in the sizes you are talking about.

I doubt Im going to find a e30 M3 in a junkyard around here..maybe a convertible. Any good website where I can purchase bushings?

Im only able to find rear m3 bushings for the 14.5mm bar. I can only find 20mm bushings also..i believe the cabrio is 21mm so that wont work correct?

Look in the upper right of any window on this site to the forum sponsors. Over half of them can get you those parts.
