    CABS/Bushings

When lowering...is it a must to replace the cabs & bushings or is this something that can be put off? Car is currently a weekend joy toy and may see some track time in a year or so. At that point bushings/cabs would be done, I'd prefer putting those funds to some new 4pt harnesses in the meantime unless it is a risky move.

Setup going in is a KW 60/40 kit along with TMS rear shock tower mount.

    Thanks

it really depends on what condition the CABs are in. If they are in good condition then they can be put off. If they have cracks or are broken, then the 4pt harness can wait.

Can this decision be based completely on visual inspection? Car is not street legal and therefore I can't speak to the taking corners at 60+ experience or any particular noises that may derive from normal driving. I know I probably should just do it but harnesses are much cooler than cabs/bushings.

A visual inspection of the control arm bushings will tell if they are cracked or torn. An alignment check of the rear wheels will usually tell if the rear trailing arm bushings are bad (the rear wheels won't have the same toe & camber. Having said that, unless the car is a very low mileage example (say 60k or less), it would be a safe bet to say that the control arm, trailing arm, and subframe bushings all need replacement.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
