    M3 Bushing pressing question

So I want to put some M3 bushings in on my stock control arms or in the brackets rather. is there anything particular about this? I noticed they are offset, which direction does the offset hole go? or does it even matter?

The reason I ask is because I'm trying to see if it will be possible to do all the work myself, and outsource labor thats out of my skill (like pressing bushings) to a shop as a side job, but I wanna know if it needs to be done a particular way or not.

    Thanks,

There is a raised mark/bump on the bushing bracket and there is an arrow molded into the bushing rubber. Line these two up and you are in business.
I tried to press mine without a press. Wasn't happnin. A local Car-X repair shop did it in 10 minutes for free but I gave them $20 anyways.

Yes I installed my suspension myself. I made a thread (see link below). Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I am not a pro but I have done suspension replacement 6 times on different cars . Definitely check into making your own bushing tool to install the bushing+bracket onto the control arm. 87e30 gave me the idea and it worked incredibly! There is a pic and explanation of the tool in my thread here:

If/when you end up making a tool, I would recommend going to Ace or Tru-Value over Home Depot/Lowes. The smaller hardware stores have a much better selection of.. .. hardware.

Thanks for the mention. ACE is where I went and definitely recommend it.

I also tried to press the bushing into the lollipop myself, and I got it 95% of the way in but couldn't figure out how i was going to be able to center it. Thank god for my friend at a shop.

You want the hole lined up with the stick part of the lollipop. The whole point of the offset bushings is to give more caster, so you want the back of the control arm as close as possible to the frame rail.
