    Front Strut Housing Removal

Ok, I know this topic has been covered many many times, but I still am having trouble. Everyone says the lower ball joints should just come free, even my Bentley says that. But mine don't. What tricks have you guys used to get the bottom of the strut housing removed?

Try a bigger hammer. I totally hate it when people say that, but its true. I use what is called a "mini-jack" or "mini-sledge"

You get a good swing right at the flat part just above the ball joint and rap it hard.

i have a set of those separators and pullers from harbor freight. i've used that ball joint separator on a lot of cars and it's not broken. works fine for all it does.

Take a good hit or two to the strut housing where the ball joint goes through. I use a mini sledge. Also leave the nut loosely installed to protect the threads Just in case.
