i got an e30 m3 steering rack install to my 318is and now its having bump steer. when ever it hit a bump or uneven pavement it would move the steering wheel. i been reading some info about the swap and most of them say its a direct fit unless its an airbag or non airbag. what can be the cause?

It is an issue on any really low E30. The lower you go, the worse bump steer gets because the tie rods and control arms are at funky angles compared to how the factory intended. The geometry of those components goes crazy when they travel through their "new range" when the car is lowered.
Just changing the rack will not affect bump steer.Comment

You are not actually experiencing bumpsteer. You just need to have the car aligned correctly. If you have had it aligned, then you need it realigned.
BMWs are very good, and only need things moved around from stock in extreme circumstances. Here is my photo gallery answering common questions about Ground Control Suspension, and e30 suspension problems in general.
