Cut Spring Perch vs. OEM Perch

im currently running a ground control conversion kit with the stock perches in place running just the spring only. my question is how much more adjustability in terms of going lower if you weld the perch ground control perch at stock height.

here is where my car sits now

can i expect to get lower welding on the ground control perches in the stock location?

No you won't be getting any lower, you will however be gaining the ability to easily adjust your springs.

Cut off the perch and weld it ~1" lower.

What kind of shocks do you have first of all?
Don't weld the perch an inch lower, you will not be bottoming out, but SITTING on your bumpstops if so.

If you weld your perch in the stock location, you will be able to tuck a littttleeee tire on weaves with a 195/65/14 tire with your coils all the way down. With camber plates, your tire will be obviously tucked to the naked eye, but nothing outrageous.

You still need to mention what shocks you have. Welding the perch lower will screw you over if you don't have a proper short shock and gland nut location to match.

i dont really care about the ride quality of the car, its on brand new regular kyb's

right now i just have the ground control spring sitting where the stock spring would go. id like to go lower than that until i can afford to shorten my housings.

You already answered your own question, if you install the GC mount plates in the "stock" location, then the ride height will be the same w/ the spring sitting in the stock perch, give or take a few MMs...

Just wait and save up to get the housings cut down.

i figured the spring doesnt sit at the bottom of the stock mount.

What? You have a 2.5 ID spring where?
