The nut on my right strut wont tighten

    Hey guys,

My car's suspension was in major need of an overhaul, and yesterday I replaced the CAB and the strut inserts. For some reason, no matter what I do, I cannot get the nut on the top of my right strut to tighten down. It only gets to the point of the self locking portion getting onto the threads and then it just spins the shaft of the strut insert. This is on a kyb. I tried putting a 6mm hex into the top of the shaft with an offset wrench going down into the hole. That got it a few turns tighter until the hex head broke off and pushed out the side of the top of the shaft.... blah.
Anyone ever have this problem? My car clunks like crazy for the time being because I couldn't fix it.

Do the threads look okay? I wouldn't recommend driving it without the nut on there. . .

^ that would work too just keep in mind you will more than likely have to use it to get it off too

            You need an impact gun.

I did use an airtool. In fact, I can't even get the nut too loosen now. It is stuck on there and I have no idea what to do. I had tried two different nuts on their, the 17mm that came with the insert and a 19mm. I had looked at the threads on the strut and thought they looked fine, but I could have missed something.
